Eat, Drink and Shop Local!

Vibrant pop-up dining precincts are appearing all over Casey, so now is the time to enjoy the sunshine and shop local!

Melbourne has emerged from its lockdown year with a renewed appreciation for the things we might have previously taken for granted, in particular the freedom to visit local shops, restaurants, bars and cafés.

Here in Casey our local council is helping you enjoy your freedom by expanding its outdoor dining program, opening up footpaths and public spaces for local businesses so we can all enjoy a COVID safe summer in the sun.

Vibrant pop-up dining precincts are appearing all over Casey. In Berwick, Kempson Walk has been transformed into a laneway experience while there’s also an arty new space in High Street built from recycled materials; Narre Warren now has a relaxed picnic precinct on Webb Street, and Cranbourne’s town centre has a number of new family friendly ‘parklets’.

These zones are all COVID safe, aligning with the current recommended safety measures, and pedestrian friendly. Of course, that means local traffic conditions have changed, so visitors should be mindful of things like reduced speed limits and parking.

Rediscovering our love of local is possibly the only good thing to come out of COVID. Let’s make sure we make the most of it by eating, drinking and shopping in Casey and supporting the businesses that make our community strong.

With so much going on this summer, whether you’re catching up with friends or shopping for the family, there really is no reason to look any further than your own backyard – the wonderful City of Casey!
