New Playground on the Way for Botanic Ridge

Local residents are invited to have their say on designs for a new playground in Botanic Ridge.

05 Oct 2021

The new playspace will be located at the northwest corner of Botanic Ridge Recreation Reserve on Browns Road. This is just around the corner from The Junction! With work on new sporting ovals at the Reserve already underway, Council is now seeking community input on the playground that will enhance the available active open space.

The design incorporates nature play elements such as reclaimed timber logs and rocks that allow children to learn, explore and use their imagination in unstructured play. Other proposed equipment includes swings, a rocker, a junior play structure, slides and climbing walls. There will also be basket swings and consideration given to how the space can be made accessible for people of all abilities.

Beautiful garden beds of local flora will also surround the playground, while a rock seating wall will function as a viewing area for the sports oval. Once complete, the Reserve will provide valuable additional open space for the Botanic Ridge community to enjoy, adding to the already spectacular natural amenity found at the nearby Cranbourne Botanic Gardens.

Consultation on the design closes on Sunday 17 October. To view the plans and have your say, visit the Casey Conversations website.
